What a License Means
- Your license is tied to a device count, not a named user
- If you need to move your license to a new device beyond your limit, contact support through the app to deactivate an old device
- Monthly/Annual: access continues while subscription is active
- Lifetime licenses include all future updates at no additional cost
- Lifetime licenses include unlimited device activations — fair use policy applies. Licenses found to be shared publicly or activated across an unreasonable number of devices will be revoked without refund. Normal homelab use across your own machines is absolutely fine
- All licenses include a 30-day offline grace period — the app keeps working if it can't reach the license server

Shutdown Guarantee
If Grand Media Station ever shuts down, a final build will be shipped to all lifetime license holders that removes the server check entirely. Your software will keep working, permanently. Subscription licenses will continue to function through their remaining paid period plus the 30-day offline grace period.

What happens if I exceed my device limit?
Contact support through the app and I'll deactivate one of your existing devices to free up a slot. No data is lost on any device — your files are always yours.
Can I upgrade from Monthly to Lifetime?
Yes. When Paddle checkout is live, you can switch tiers at any time. Your remaining monthly balance won't be prorated, but you'll get immediate access to the new tier.
What happens to my files if I cancel?
Nothing. GMS renames files on your local filesystem. If you cancel your subscription, the app stops working after your paid period plus the 30-day grace period. Your files stay exactly where they are — they were always yours.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled through Paddle, our merchant of record. Their standard refund policy applies. I'm not going to fight you over a refund — if it's not working for you, I'd rather know why.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The 14-day trial gives you full access to every feature — no artificial limits, no payment information required. You get the complete paid experience so you can decide if GMS fits your workflow before committing. After 14 days the app stops working until a license is purchased.
What does "offline grace period" mean?
GMS validates your license periodically. If it can't reach my server — because you're offline, or my server is down — the app keeps working for 30 days before asking you to reconnect. All license tiers get this. Your workflow shouldn't break because of a server hiccup.
